Dr. Andreas Hahne is a German qualified attorney (Rechtsanwalt) and Partner in Quinn Emanuel’s Munich office. He joined the firm in 2016. His practice covers all fields of complex tech litigation with a focus on patent litigation. He also advises clients in disputes involving FRAND licensing and in antitrust and competition law matters.

Andreas represents clients before the Unified Patent Court (UPC) and the major German patent infringement courts at trial and appellate level, in nullity proceedings before the German Federal Patent Court and the Federal Supreme Court, and in opposition proceedings at the European Patent Office (EPO) before the Opposition Divisions and the Technical Boards of Appeal. He has extensive experience in cross-border cases involving the coordination of various jurisdictions. His expertise covers a broad range of industries and technologies such as life sciences, biotech, pharmaceuticals, IT, telecommunications, speech and video coding, semiconductors, and automotive.

Andreas holds degrees of the University of Erlangen-Nuremburg (JD equivalent) and Queen Mary University of London (LL.M.). He obtained his doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in law from the University of Munich.

From 2023 to 2025, Legal 500 Deutschland and Legal 500 EMEA named him a “Recommended Lawyer for Intellectual Property: Patent Litigation”. From 2020 - 2025, Managing IP’s IP Stars has recognized Andreas as a “Rising Star”.
