• Trial counsel to the largest operator of quick-service lube facilities in the country in a multi-week arbitration involving a franchising dispute. The panel found in our client’s favor.
• Trial counsel to a property developer in an expedited arbitration involving the sale of a commercial property portfolio. The arbitrator found in our client’s favor. 
• Trial counsel to an automotive parts supplier in a dispute over the purchase of a business. Matter resolved favorably.
• Trial counsel to an alcoholic beverage company in a multi-week jury trial involving allegations of trademark infringement and unfair competition.
• Trial counsel to a medical device manufacturer in a nine-day preliminary injunction hearing regarding a dispute with the client’s former distributor involving claims of trade secret theft, breach of contract, and breach of fiduciary duty. Secured a worldwide preliminary injunction preventing the sale of the knock-off product.
• Trial counsel to an insurance company in claims involving alleged unfair business practices. Successfully defeated a request for a preliminary injunction and subsequently resolved the matter on favorable terms.
• Trial counsel to operator of thousands of restaurants in lawsuit seeking COVID-related changes to business. Successfully defeated a request for a preliminary injunction.
• Trial counsel to CEO of healthcare business in dispute involving claims of breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty.  Successfully defeated a request for a preliminary injunction and subsequently resolved the matter on favorable terms.
• National trial counsel to off-road vehicle manufacturer in numerous lawsuits involving product liability claims. Matters ongoing.
• Trial counsel to the a consumer products company’s largest franchisee in Mexico in an arbitration involving a franchising dispute. Matter ongoing.
• Trial counsel to a high-net-worth client in a divorce proceeding. Matter ongoing.
• Litigation counsel to Navistar in a breach of contract case filed by Ford Motor Company, where Ford sought over $1 billion in damages. After two years of litigation, the parties entered into a confidential settlement agreement. In a joint press release, the parties stated that as part of the settlement, Ford made a cash payment to Navistar, and Navistar also acquired additional equity in certain joint ventures between the companies.
• Litigation counsel to Boeing in a nine-figure contract dispute.  Boeing was awarded over $500 million on summary judgment and subsequently prevailed against U.S. affiliates of the foreign defendant on an alter ego theory.  
• Litigation counsel to Edison Mission Energy in investigation of claims against EME’s former parent company. The Chapter 11 plan incorporated a global settlement of all claims and disputes with EME’s former parent, resulting in approximately $1 billion in additional value for EME’s estates.
• Litigation counsel to Winston & Strawn in a $1.6 billion legal malpractice case. Secured dismissal of plaintiff’s complaint with prejudice; the Seventh Circuit affirmed.
• Litigation counsel to nationwide operator of medical imaging centers in dispute regarding the sale of a part of the business.
• Litigation counsel to Motorola in purported nationwide class actions based on an alleged risk of hearing loss from use of wireless headsets. 
• Litigation counsel to alcoholic beverage manufacturer in purported nationwide class actions involving the labeling of certain consumer products.
• Litigation counsel to insurance company in purported class action involving claims of alleged unfair business practices. 
• Litigation counsel to Motorola in a series of cases alleging that radiofrequency energy from wireless phones causes personal injuries.
• Litigation counsel to lender in dispute regarding propriety of lender’s foreclosure on a business.
• Litigation counsel to the owner of a hotel in a dispute with the hotel’s manager.
• Litigation counsel to a minority shareholder seeking to appoint a receiver over a business that owns and operates several hotels.
• Litigation counsel to nationwide property management firm regarding dispute over restrictive covenants.
