Sam is a senior associate in Quinn Emanuel’s London office. He joined the firm in 2023 and his practice focuses on intellectual property litigation.
Sam has experience advising on all forms of contentious intellectual property law, but particularly in patent litigation. He has advised clients across a wide variety of sectors and products, including artificial intelligence, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and telecommunications. Sam has acted on proceedings in the UK High Court, Court of Appeal and the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, as well as in proceedings before the European Patent Office. He also has experience coordinating pan-European patent disputes, and advising on copyright, trade marks and passing off, and confidential information.
Prior to joining the firm, Sam spent four years at a specialist intellectual property litigation firm based in London. Before law, Sam completed a masters in chemistry with business management, in which he specialised predominantly in sustainable and renewable inorganic chemistries, and corporate strategy.
Sam is a qualified solicitor advocate and holds Higher Rights of Audience in all civil courts in England and Wales.
In 2025, Managing Intellectual Property has recognised Sam as a “Rising Star”.
