While at Harvard Law School, Cara served as a student attorney where she conducted prosecutorial work in North Dakota through Harvard’s Criminal Prosecution Clinic and defense work in Massachusetts through Harvard’s Criminal Justice Institute. In North Dakota, she advocated for victims of drug-related crimes, domestic violence, child neglect, sexual assault, and homicide. In May 2022, Cara was recognized by Harvard and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court for having performed more than 1,000 hours of pro bono work and received the Kristin P. Muniz Memorial Award, an academic award that recognized one graduating student who demonstrated an exemplary dedication to client-centered representation and who focused their efforts on racial justice and equality, respect for human dignity, fairness, diversity, and compassion. Cara also served as a Teaching Fellow, the Executive Editor of Operations for the Harvard Journal of Sports and Entertainment Law, an editor for the Harvard Journal on Legislation and the Harvard Journal of Law and Gender, a team member of the Mock Trial Association, and a member of the Women’s Law Association. During her summer, Cara worked at another major law firm where she focused on a variety of litigation matters, including ERISA, product liability and mass torts, and intellectual property disputes.
Prior to attending law school, Cara held the job of Miss America 2018, worked for the U.S. Senate, and conducted an international speaking tour focused on empowering women. Following law school, she was a 2022 congressional candidate. Cara’s experience also includes work in the nonprofit and media sector.
