Tom Pierce is a Senior Associate in Quinn Emanuel’s London office. He joined the firm in 2023. His practice focuses on commercial litigation and international arbitration. Tom was admitted to practice in Australia in 2017.
At Quinn Emanuel, Tom has been involved in a diverse range of complex disputes. In particular, Tom has worked on disputes concerning unfair prejudice against minority shareholders, untrue or misleading statements in published information about securities, civil fraud and general commercial matters. Much of Tom’s work has an international dimension and he has experience considering issues of foreign law, acting in proceedings before foreign courts including those of the British Virgin Islands and Abu Dhabi Global Market, and in cross-border enforcement. Tom also forms part of the Quinn Emanuel team acting for the Hyundai-Kia Defendants in the ‘DieselGate’ Pan-NOx Emissions Group Litigation before the English High Court, which was highlighted as one of The Lawyer’s top 20 cases of 2025.
Prior to joining the firm, Tom worked as a solicitor at two of Australia’s leading law firms. He also served as the Associate of (i.e. clerked for) a Judge of the Federal Court of Australia. During those years, Tom gained broad experience in general commercial, competition and consumer protection, professional negligence, white collar crime, public and administrative law, and employment and industrial law disputes.
Tom is a graduate of the University of Melbourne, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor (with First Class Honours). He is also a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he completed his Master of Laws (with Distinction), in which he specialised in international commercial litigation, international arbitration and white collar crime. During his academic career, Tom earned numerous prizes and scholarships.
