The Beijing Office

The Beijing Office is Quinn Emanuel’s newest office in Asia and third office in China, following Hong Kong and Shanghai. 

The Beijing and Shanghai offices have an integrated team comprised of English-Chinese bilingual attorneys, many of who received legal training in both China and the U.S.  This team boasts experienced litigators who have extensive first-hand experience in U.S. commercial litigation, government investigations and international arbitrations and at the same time an acute understanding of Chinese business culture and legal framework that affects cross-border disputes. 

Leveraging Quinn Emanuel’s powerful global platform and on-the-ground presence in China, the Beijing and Shanghai Offices are uniquely positioned in representing China-based clients in cross-border disputes and advising multinational companies on compliance-related issues involving their Chinese operations. 

Specifically, this team has had great success in the following practices:

• Representing Chinese and multinational companies in civil litigation in the U.S. and elsewhere, including in particular securities, trade secret, patent, trademark, contract, financial, product liability, and corporate governance litigations.
• Representing Chinese and multinational companies and individuals in governmental investigations, such as investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice (“DOJ”), Securities Exchange Commission (“SEC”), Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”), etc. 
• Representing Chinese and international companies in international arbitrations seated in Hong Kong, Singapore, and elsewhere. 
• Conducting internal investigations, independent investigations, and compliance reviews for Chinese companies and multinational companies’ Chinese operations and portfolio companies.
• Providing advice to multi-national entities, generally in conjunction with local counsel, regarding Chinese litigation and enforcement risk.
